About Sharleen

Speaker, advocate, holistic wellbeing practitioner and proud SEND parent.

My Story

When my child was first diagnosed with special educational needs, I felt completely overwhelmed. The systems were confusing, the emotional weight was heavy, and I struggled to find anyone who truly understood what our family was going through — especially as a parent from an ethnic minority background where disability still carries so much stigma and silence.

I knew I wasn’t the only parent feeling this way. But finding culturally sensitive, holistic support felt almost impossible. So I set out to create the kind of support I wished I’d had — rooted in lived experience, compassion, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges SEND families face.

What I Do Now

Today, I work with SEND parents, schools and organisations to build understanding, break down cultural barriers and create emotionally safe environments where children with special needs can thrive.

I deliver CPD training for educators, keynote talks at conferences, and run The Parent Tree — a supportive monthly community for SEND parents. I also offer 1:1 wellbeing sessions, workshops and retreats that combine practical strategies with holistic, trauma-informed approaches to wellbeing.

My Mission

My mission is simple: to ensure that no SEND parent feels alone, and that every school and organisation has the tools, understanding and cultural awareness to truly support the families they serve.

I believe that when parents feel supported, children thrive. And when professionals are equipped with empathy and knowledge, real inclusion becomes possible.

If you’re ready to inspire your audience with real-life wisdom, practical tools, and a holistic approach that speaks to the head, heart, and soul — I’m here for it.
